Where do the Moyes critics stand now.
I’m not being a clever dick and this is meant as a serious question. Moyes has had plenty of supporters think he was not right for the job. I was just wondering how some of them think now. Have they changed their minds or do they still think that we should look elsewhere. Interesting to know.

Re: Where do the Moyes critics stand now.
I was very underwhelmed by the appointment of Moyes the first time round, I got annoyed with the "Winning it's what I do" quote cos our reality was quite a long way different to that.

So when he was appointed a second time I feared the worst.

I am enjoying every serving of humble pie that I have been forced to eat, I'd love (LOVE) to know why its any different this time around but I'm so glad it is.

Well said mate. It’s all about opinions.

another childish, point scoring thread. you should remember it was the poison dwarf who released/sacked him first time round, nothing to do with any supporters. that you think people would want him replaced at the moment shows your ignorance

It generally depends on how you react to events. If you are rational, analyse them and try and work out where the choices lead you have at least a half decent chance of getting a broad brush idea of some aspects of the future.
My feeling on Moyes was he had something at Everton and would it be possible for him to bring that to East London. I also thought his hard work and pragmatism might be really good for us.
I could not have predicted in a million years what has been achieved so far and my nature now thinks we will revert. If we don't I’ll be buzzing fir a long time to come.

Sorry not point scoring and not having a go at anybody. I’m sure that most of the Moyes critics are just as thrilled by the team’s improvement. Just trying to converse with the doubters that’s all.

Ha ha must be hard to take moaning Mike, the abuse you and that piece of shit ChillTheKunt gave me when l said Moyes would be a sucess
Even now you're having a pop at the thread, what a bitter and twisted miserable prick you are, cheering on Villa today?

I’m happy to admit I was clearly wrong.

I thought he was the wrong type of manager for us, and way past his best.

I think he has reinvented himself in a way. We certainly play a better brand of football than what I’d credit him from his best days at Everton.

It’s not just performance and results that deserve praise though. The staff set up, and closer link to our youth academy seems really positive and as professional as we have ever been.

Fair play to him. I never saw it coming at all.

I was vehemently against his 2nd appointment. We were absolute dogshit until covid hit.

Since then (Burnley game aside at the beginning of the revival) we've been brilliant.

However if I were to publicly admit I was wrong and that I think he's doing a great job, and that I need to eat a ton of humble pie... it would all fall apart so I can't outrightly say this.

HERE I AM !!!

Yup have to admit I thought it was a WANK appointment as did many on here... more than happy to have a slice of humble pie and even have my nose rolled into it... just like the Bilic ride lets enjoy it while the going is good.... because knowing us... nothing good ever lasts

To be fair to the initially unenthusiastic (which includes me), he seems to be a better manager than he was, even when he was at Everton.

Re: Where do the Moyes critics stand now.
Spent hundreds going to away games first time around where he simply threw them with no intention of winning, so he was on the ropes with me early doors.

I don't think the premiership is the be all and end all so it was fucking annoying as well as the football being very very bland, so I wasn't overly impressed with him coming back.

Throw in that I work with 2 everton season ticket holders who simply hated how boring Everton were under him and were overjoyed when he left.

I'll always back anyone at west ham regardless, but have been as overjoyed as the next man at the job he's doing, as well as the fact he seems to have taken the west ham way on board and has him playing football that's sometimes a joy to watch.

Long may it continue.

Re: Where do the Moyes critics stand now.
I've got used to turmoil at west ham since the golden era, I thought Moyes would just be fairly safe and plod through until they sold the club.

He has genuinely taken me aback, I've been surprised at how we set out, the formation changes and triggered presses, it can't just be Moyes; Nolan and co must have some part to play, but it does genuinely seem that we are on the verge of something this season.

I was not openly against his appointment but wasn't happy with it, I just sort of learnt to accept that we have to put up with this for a while. How wrong was I

I stand corrected
I was not underwhelmed, I was fucking furious when he was first appointed
I was not impressed with his Everton regime and that was his zenith. Contrary to popular opinion, he did have money and spunked £10m when that was a lump, on that Billy Shitcuntov
He did ok in his first innings here, organised us better, not difficult but competent, then spunked £10m (allegedly) on Hugill, from his old mates at Preston
Indifferent to his second coming, however, in agreement with Geep, must be his highest performance level so far - outstanding on all fronts

One thing he had go for him last 18 months or so is he has had the luxury of having his first choice 10 and 11 players each week...

I doubted him
I thought he’d be a stableish mid table board yes man

I am very happy to be proved wrong and long may it continue.

Only weirdos hope the team fails so they can be proved right.

I was completely against us bringing him back. In fairness he’s been superb and has done a fantastic job

Re: Where do the Moyes critics stand now.
Like many others I was rather underwhelmed with his appointment for the second time, at best I thought he'd stabilise us as a lower half of the table club playing some unadventurous football.

Instead he has turned the club around - last season was the most enjoyable I've witnessed, both in terms of results and how we played. But unlike say Bilic's first season or the Pardew cup final season we actually seem to be building on the success.

I don't know how he's managing it, but signings come in and do well (at least after a bedding in period), players that look to be on the decline suddenly improve and the whole atmosphere in and around the club seems to be brilliant. Long may it continue!

Re: Where do the Moyes critics stand now.
When Moyes turned up first time I believed we had more chance of escaping relegation with him at the helm than if we had stuck with Lurch.

I was both surprised and disappointed that our owners did not extend his contract.

Second time around and I was happy for Moyes to return and now we can see with time what sort of a manager Moyes can be.

Btw, I don’t think that any manager could have kept Sunderland up the season Moyes failed to.
